Peer review is the process by which a piece of scientific research is assessed by others—a researcher’s fellow peers—who are suitably qualified and able to judge the piece of work under review in terms of novelty, soundness, and significance.
The journal used the Double-blind peer review model meaning that the reviewers do not know the names of the authors, and the authors do not know who reviewed their manuscript (but if the research is published reviewers can eventually know the names of the authors).
